Economy for Public Good Conference 2024

Video by Ben Matthews.

Our Economy for Public Good conference 2024 saw 300+ people come together in Pōneke to discuss redesigning our economy to deliver wellbeing for nature and all our people.

Highlights from the day

Keynote presentation: Dr Katherine Trebeck

It was a privilege to welcome Dr Katherine Trebeck as our international keynote speaker for the conference.

Katherine is a political economist, writer and advocate for economic systems change. She co-founded the Wellbeing Economy Alliance and also WEAll Scotland, its Scottish hub.

Katherine spoke on how our current system is leaving people behind and called for fundamental transformation of how the economy works and who it works for. She emphasised how our economy is built on a series of political choices and can be rebuilt with better, more equitable choices.
